I attended a funeral last Friday for Bernice Audrey Brannen Ford. She was 102! How amazing is that?! Pastor Tracey Beadle (Manchaca United Methodist Church) honored Bernice by sharing the story of another preacher who looked at a tombstone and noted that we always talk about the date of birth and the date of death, but what is most important is the dash (-) between the two dates. It is not when our lives begin and end that counts, but what we do on the journey. Bernice lived her dash to the fullest. She went BACK to work at age 75 and she loved her family VERY much. Most importantly, she knew God was her beginning and end, the Alpha and Omega, and she looked to Christ to guide her throughout her very long and blessed dash.
I encourage each of you to live your dash to the fullest, knowing that God is your Alpha and Omega!
