Last night (11/30) I had the privilege of attending a dress rehearsal for a new musical by Allan Knee, with music and lyrics by Andre Catrini.
"The Astonishing Times of Timothy Cratchit" picks up where "A Christmas Carol" left off. In this charming coming-of-age story, Allan Knee imagines what became of Tiny Tim after Mr. Scrooge entered his life. It is a timeless story about finding one's way in the world. Andre Catrini adds beautifully crafted music and lyrics to make this heartwarming journey even brighter.
The 16-show run is being presented by The Workshop Theatre at 312 W. 36th Street in New York.
Over the next, several months, as a participant in the TRU Producer Development and Mentorship Program (PDMP) in New York, I will be part of team that gets to imagine how we would develop this show for future opportunities. Any plans we develop may or may not be used by the production team working on the show, but we will have front-row seats during the development process and I am excited to learn the ropes from the Broadway pros.Check out the information on the show at The Workshop Theatre and, if the show sounds like something you would be interested in seeing in the future, leave a comment below, so I can pass it along to the producers.
