My husband and I are very busy people. Just ask anyone who knows us. :) This busy-ness can be a good thing - because we are productive, we get a lot accomplished, and we are able to serve people. But there is a down-side. In our pursuit of the next best project, we sometimes lose sight of one another. We forget that we need to remain connected. This past weekend, we spent some time at The Narrows, located on a ranch in Blanco County, Texas. We went with the Boy Scouts, but this was a "Chill" campout, i.e., the point was to "chill" out. And we did. Unlike most scout campouts, which are filled with activities to earn merit badges or engage in service projects, we had no agenda. We spent the weekend swimming, eating, and visiting - mostly without smart phones and social media. I had a great opportunity to re-connect with my husband, as well as other adult leaders, and the scouts (including our 14-year-old son). I appreciate social media and the way it allows us to remain connected when we are physically apart, but it is so wonderful to connect in person!
